Telegram is a New Platform Taking the World by Storm

What is Telegram?

Telegram is more than just a messenger. Convenient functionality, cross-platform compatibility, and speed are just some of the advantages that make it convenient for personal communication and work. In addition to its obvious and well-known features, Telegram has many useful functions that not everyone is aware of. We discuss six such functions in this article.

1. Voice Chats

At the peak of its popularity, Telegram introduced voice chat functionality and has been steadily improving it ever since. Voice chat is available to administrators of any groups and channels.

Anyone can join a chat when it's active. Voice chats can also be scheduled for a specific time, in which case group members will receive a notification when the chat starts.

More voice chat options in Telegram include:

You can save the recording as an audio file.
There is a noise reduction option to enhance audio quality in conversations.
Recently, the screen sharing option has also become available.

2. Group Video Calls

Another modern trend is video conferencing. In June 2021, Telegram added the ability to transform voice chats into video conferences. During a video conference, the number of participants cannot exceed 30 people at the same time (the first 30 people who connect to the chat). Telegram is continually evolving, and there are plans to increase the participant limit.

This is another feature that users of the messenger have been eagerly awaiting. In voice chats, you can not only switch to video conference mode (activating the front or main camera of your smartphone) but also share your screen with other chat participants.

4. Quick Voice Recording

These features will be appreciated by fans of voice messages. Usually, you have to press and hold the microphone icon to record an audio message. In Telegram, you can do this more easily and quickly. Just open any chat and hold your phone to your ear. You'll hear a short signal, after which you can start speaking.

5. Delayed or Silent Message Sending

Delayed and silent messages are useful options for those who work late at night. For example, you want to ask a colleague to send a report from an advertising campaign in the morning, but it's 3 in the morning. Instead of setting a task for yourself or reminding yourself in the morning, you can simply write a message in the chat with your coworker and schedule it to be sent at 9 a.m. Convenient, right?

To schedule a message, write it and hold down the send button. A menu will open where you can select the "Send Later" option and set the desired time.

6. Grouping Chat Windows into Folders

Grouping chats into folders helps organize all important channels and chats in the messenger. This option is useful if you manage multiple projects, each with several chats, or if you want to follow industry news channels, or even if you have private chats. It's easy to get confused and lose important information in all of this, and grouping solves these problems.

To create a folder, hold down the Chats icon and then select the "Create Folder" option.
